Course Reflection

During Com210 I learned many meaningful skills that I will take forward into other communication courses. My favorite project has to be the Illustrator unit. I believe I grew a lot as well as overcame many obstacles. Starting with the tutorials I became very hesitant in the course and what I thought I wanted to do. The photoshop project I also believe to have been very challenging for me, I would say that the transition from high school to college hadn’t been the easiest, which made the first unit of the course a struggle for me. As the weeks past by I became more confident and actually decided to go back to this tool and incorporate it into my final project. I went from not knowing how to use adobe, and actually quite scared of it, to be confident in multiple applications and completing my first communications course in college! I would love to work in social media and public relations while I figure out whether or not I will go into a Masters or Law degree. My dream is to sustain myself solely on my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations however I do see even higher education in my future. If I go into a social media field, I believe this course was a great stepping stone into that future. I think I have grown leaps and bounds in terms of overall skills, however, I would’ve liked more in-depth and slower tutorials so that I could’ve been more confident going into certain sections. I didn’t necessarily access outside recourses for this course however did use the internet to get clarification on the in’s and out’s of the applications I was using on top of the tutorials during those weeks. I don’t have any suggestions or thoughts however I am definitely grateful for this opportunity and grateful for what I have learned in this course. Thanks!
