The topic I am going to chose for my Com 210 project is to be a CEO of a mock nonprofit that I would want to start in the future. I am interested in launching an organization for children in foster care, those who come from upset homes (such as divorce and other situations), as well as those with special needs. My goal for this organization would be to put on seminar programs lasting 2-5 days that will give these kids time to gain confidence and skills that they might not have. I got this inspiration for the organization I was a part of however I would like to gear this hopeful company to those children I described earlier as children in those hard situations are my passion and what I would like to strive to help. The unit projects (that I am confident and excited to start with) are Units 1 and 2 as I will be able to work with advertisements and logos for this project. A way that I would get original material would be to use Unit 3 as a time to work on audio advertisements and record myself sharing what exactly this program is. I would (for the time being) loosely name this company “Rise All” as the focus is the establish a foundation for each child to grow.

This is an organization I have worked closely with my entire life. This is a self empowerment workshop for people of all ages from small children to adults where it is programed for 5 days worth of gaining the tools to live a more heart felt and confident life. I have had the honor of not only being able to participate in but also volunteer, and this past summer was able to do an internship with where I was able to work as the Event and Volunteer Coordinator.

The Painted Turtle is an organization based in my hometown of Los Angeles California and was established to send children with medical conditions to summer camp. This organization is a huge inspiration for me as it is 100% free for the children and run by donations and volunteers.

The EduCare Foundation is a program founded to help students in the Greater Los Angeles Area with the resources that they might need such as help inside of the school with different activities as well as help the child after school with programs similar to my first link where they focus on building up the child into having a more loving life and self image of them.
